Years ago I went to a Revolver Tour in Baltimore, MD with my two older daughters. Jamie Grace was one of the speakers. She spoke of all the things she went through with her health how her family found out that she had Tourette Syndrome. Afterward she was signing autographs and I told her that she was a huge inspiration and that I wish my little girl would have been here to meet her. At that time my daughter Bryana only had ADHD and was nine years old. Her story impacted me.
A year and a half before, I noticed Bryana twitching and I asked her if she knew what she was doing, she said no. After hearing Jamie Grace speak, I told Bryana’s Doctor about her twitching and that I thought it could be Tourette. They did testing on Bryana, to notice find out that yes it was. The doctor told me that I was lucky to find it on time before it got worse, and whoever or whatever made me to think of Tourette I should thank them. God only knew why I needed to hear the story from Jamie Grace back then. He knew he would guide me through this situation with Bryana.
I told Bryana of Jamie Grace and she sees her as a role model. She sings all her songs. Bryana not only has ADHD, Tourette, Anxiety, but also pulls her hair from anxiety and stress. Bryana had to write a report on “which famous person would you like to visit your school”, she wrote on Jamie Grace.
On June 7th Jamie Grace was going to perform with Tenth Avenue North in Six Flags, NJ. I surprised Bryana with tickets. My Goal was for Bryana to meet her. I prayed that God would grant her that privilege to meet Jamie Grace and guess what: she did. I got to speak to her sister and she told me to write the story on this web site. As a mother that my heart hurts every time I see my daughter twitching and pulling her hair, I thank God every day for permitting me to have been able to meet Jamie Grace years ago and to be able to know what Tourette was. I praise my Lord all the time, cause I know Bryana has role models and that she will be fine.
Bryana goes through this verse and so do I.
Even when I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will not be afraid,
for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff
protect and comfort me.
Thank you Jamie Grace,
