My nephew Derek is a fighter.
He is diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
This disease essentially turns all you muscles into jelly, and as we all know your heart is a muscle!
He travels to Brenner’s Children’s hospital often, does physical therapy once a week and has to wear braces on his legs daily.
He does it all with a smile and a humble attitude.
He’s a fighter and my personal hero.
