My name is Jessica and I’m a fighter.
I’m a wife, mother, bible study teacher and registered nurse. I am also the face of an invisible disease, Myasthenia Gravis. MG (for short) causes severe muscle weakness. My eye muscles become too weak to focus and I have double vision and saggy eyelids. Sometimes my neck is so weak it can not support the weight of my head. This weakness is generalized over my entire body.
Today, I’m having a tough time breathing and speaking. There is no cure and my case has been difficult to treat. But I press on any how, trusting God with my future. When my symptoms began, my oldest daughter Jaiden was diagnosed with cancer. I had never fought so hard in my life! She was so tenacious and I was relentless.
Jaiden’s battle ended with victory in Heaven. She was 9 years old but she trained me for this fight: the fight for my life.
