Caileigh’s fight began before I even knew of her life.
She was born to a mother that suffered from mental illness that hid her pregnancy and even her birth experience. My future daughter laid in the bathroom floor of her birth mother’s apartment for hours before her umbilical cord was cut. It was another 4 days before she received any medical attention and it was almost too late…her body temperature was already dropping and her green-skinned body was wracked with seizures nonstop as the severe jaundice attacked her brain.
After draining her tiny body of her toxic blood & giving her all new blood, TWICE, they knew she would live & that’s when we got the call to become foster to adopt parents for the first time. We were told not to expect much. She probably couldn’t hear, therefore would probably never talk to her & they were pretty sure she would never move, crawl or walk.
We were told our tiny, seemingly perfect, new daughter would be a vegetable & not to expect much from her.
God can heal & He still does.
He can heal deafened ears & the diagnosis of Auditory Neuropathy.
She hears & speaks. I expect BIG things from God.
He can make the lame to walk & heal the diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy.
She walks & dances. I expect BIG things from God.
She should not, by all medical standards, be alive, hear or speak, walk or dance or even THINK much less be an intelligent & SASSY 3 year old & she is all of these things & more.
God instilled a WARRIOR spirit in this tiny girl.
And He has BIG plans for her.
I EXPECT it!!!
